Do you think the new rifle (BR-38) is a good addition?

• Player: It's passable. Think the belt slot is wonky as a "Rifle" and has too many safe shots, but it's decent. Needs debuffs to make it in line with other guns you can order/greytide make.
• Player: Yes! It fills a very unique niche being a crew sided long ranged weapon. The scope is great. The reset mechanic should just not be a part of the gun.
• Player: No as it doesn't really provide anything unique when compared to the other options other than the novelty.
• Player: Yes. I think it filled a missing niche of a cool electromagnetic style weapon that would come after gun powder but before lasers. I think regular gunpowder guns are very unfitting for the setting and I am glad to see this cool addition

• Player: It looks too skyratish,tg becomes skyrat slowly. just bring back improvised shells pls >_< Also, just a fucking det gun with 10 bullets, and more useless mechanics to it.
• Player: Not really. It just seems like a weird way to shove in a "ballistic but not really" gun that features a strange ammo type, weirdly complicated and overdesigned gimmick. The sprite of the weapon is far too sleek to seem like a research prototype but the gun is too dysfunctional to be anything else. Using trac bullets as a default ammo type is a pretty bad idea because trac bullets when actually used are extremely oppressive and makes escaping security feel hopeless but otherwise are entirely pointless. Trac using stamina doesn't really make it less powerful as an antag being stamcritted means it's probably over anyways. Trac bullets being weird isn't really the gun's fault but it does seem weird to use them as a default ever.

• Player: It's good, since it's more variety however there was some mention about combat shotguns from cargo being removed? Not sure if they meant like only from the order console or actually removed from the whole game, because it would be quite odd to trade off a new gun and deleting old one.

• Player: Yes but guns are in a bad place right now. IMO neither guns nor melee are in a great place right now. There's a big competition to stack deflect chance with bullshit parrying / blocking mechanics for melee and guns are all just a variation of the firing line.

• Player: While the mags need fixing to actually fit the rigfle, even in its skuffed phase right now with the swap out of mags, and people complaining about having to print ammo, I think the guns fun to use and maintain. I do think having the option to print bullets and speedloaders should be a thing rather than one or the other, but eh.

• Player: On it's own, it probably would be. As a replacement for the combat shotgun, I don't think so. Most of the playerbase I've spoken with is not a fan of the increasing removal of ballistics in favor of futuristic weapons. This is part and parcel of that.

• Player: I like the idea of a DMR-type weapon and think it's valuable. I also like the themeing of an unstable weapon that can blow up in your hands.

• Player: Addition, maybe (big maybe, and I forsee a lot of seccies not using it), but not a replacement. An addition PR shouldn't have removal riders on it, especially ones not immediately related to what it adds.
• Player: While personally the weapon is a bit middling on paper, I do still find it a novel and relatively useful addition to the game in terms of non-lethal/lethal options out there. The mechanic of resetting the weapon for maintenance really scratches the itch of remember just how damaged the gun is, and equally gambling on if you want to continue firing it. What really sells it for me is that the weapon itself opens the way for a more varied armory for both security and the crew to play around with... Assuming that there is further PRs made with similiar or newly added pseudo-energy ballistic weaponry with their own quirks or designs to play with.
